One of the most essential stages in startup growth is conducting trials or joint development projects with international partners. This is a highly important step in the commercialization of new technological products.
The IIA (Israel’s Innovation Authority) offers many programs to support these co-development projects. These calls for action are designed to promote growth for Israeli companies with strategic international partners, and encourages young companies to access the global pool of knowledge and technology, to break through and to scale up with their innovative products and solutions in the global market, and to increase competitiveness of Israeli companies in the international arena.
One of the most important success indicators for receiving a grant is the innovation of the offered solution, that is developed within the international collaboration. Additional factors are examined: The cooperation’s quality and synergy, reflected in the joint work plan, mutual commitment, direct contribution to the technological development with an added value of shared knowledge, budget distribution, infrastructures and commercial ties according to comparative advantage, innovative application of existing technologies in new markets, market validation, and ongoing commercialization stages even after the project ended.
If you plan a joint development with an international partner from the following destinations, you are eligible to apply for a grant:
- USA – grant for joint R&D, including in Florida – in the fields of: Space for joint R&D
- Germany – grant for joint R&D
- France – a grant for cooperation in development
- Taiwan – grant for joint R&D
- Finland – grant for joint R&D & + Healthcare trials
- Colombia – a grant for joint R&D
- Argentina – a grant for joint R&D
- Singapore – grant for joint R&D
- India – grant for joint R&D
- Korea – grant for joint R&D
In addition, the IIA offers many programs to support trials with international partners. For these programs only products ready to run can be submitted (post POC) and without significant R&D. For trial financing, applications can be submitted with international companies such as:

- Food – Dole Asia, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Procter&Gamble, Unilever,
